‘Spilt Milk’ Wins Audience Award at Glasgow Film Festival

We’re very excited to share that ‘Spilt Milk’ won the Mubi Audience Award at the closing of the 21st Edition of the Glasgow Film Festival! Randan Producer James Heath and Brick + Mortar Editor Jack Lang were in attendance to accept the award on behalf of the Spilt Milk team.

The audience award is the only prize presented to a title at the festival and is awarded to a first or second-time director.

“We’re deeply honoured to accept this wonderful award and to know that our film connected with the audiences at the Glasgow Film Festival,” director Brian Durnin said after winning the award.

‘Spilt Milk’ which made its World Premiere in Tallinn, is directed by first-time director Brian Durnin, written by Cara Loftus, produced with 925 Productions and backed by Screen Ireland.

Not only is Spilt Milk Brian Durnin’s directorial debut, but it’s also the debut of writer Cara Loftus.

The film is set in 1980s Dublin and tells the story of the heroin epidemic, told through the lens of Kojack-obsessed boy detective, Bobby O’Brien. The film stars Cillian Sullivan as Bobby, Naoise Kelly as Bobby’s partner in crime Nell, and Danielle Galligan as Bobby’s loving and courageous mum.

We’re very excited about the well-deserved praise ‘Spilt Milk’ has received so far. You can keep up with more ‘Spilt Milk’ news on our socials:
